This week we headed to Buck & Honey’s in Waunakee, Wisconsin. And we absolutely adored it. To be honest, we aren’t going to know what to do with ourselves when we hit some place awful, but thankfully, we don’t have to cross that bridge today. This will sound totally fake (it isn’t), but the only negative we really had, was that we hadn’t been there before.

As we walked in the place is lovely, big dining room to the left and behind the host stand, giant bar area with seating to the right. And then, just beyond that, a magical space that can be indoor or outdoor depending on the hell of Wisconsin winters. We had a perfect table next to a beautiful fireplace, and in the summer would overlook the outdoor patio seating.

The staff was wonderful. We had the sweetest server and everyone around her, management, assistants, you name it, were all so kind, so welcoming and so attentive. They were so generous to start us off with their B&H Sampler and the Jones Dairy Farm Bacon & Korean Ribs, or, as Katy lovingly dubbed it, “hangin’ Bacon” – both stunning and delicious. We also went for the Ahi app, some Buffalo Wings, and a Caprese Salad. All tremendous and each had us literally texting people from the table telling them that they have to come here immediately. I don’t even remember the last time that happened somewhere.

Now, for the nitty gritty on why we chose this joint, the drinks. We are so in love with how well Buck & Honey’s does drinks. They are doing what we are dreaming the whole world to do, they are giving patrons the same exact experience, regardless of what is in their glass. They have a drink menu that is inclusive of all choices, we are ordering off the exact same menu, mocktails and NA sweetly sandwiched between Cocktails and Martinis, NA beers on the same beer menu as fully leaded. They knocked this out of the park.

Now, how did they taste? Incredible. Bridget started with the Cucumber Collins (despite not liking gin?) and loved it while Katy kicked it off with a Lemongrass Ginger Mule. They came in the exact same cocktail glasses and they were both delicious. We went on to taste the NA beers, they even had a new one we hadn’t tried yet!

Overall, this experience was fantastic and we cannot wait to go back. We also haven’t stopped raving about this spot with friends and family. We could not recommend Buck & Honey’s highly enough, as a place where everyone can enjoy the experience, regardless of what’s in their glass.
