State Line Distillery · Madison, WI
We chose this place because they had been highlighting a menu for Dry January and we were immediately excited by that. The staff was absolutely incredible start to finish. The place makes you feel at home, the moment you walk in and you can even bring your dog! So it really is like home! We know this makes us weirdos but we were actually thrilled when they were out of some of their Dry January menu items because it made us feel like there was a demand for them, a place in the world for them, and this place was a place for that.
Lucille · Madison, WI
Beautiful night at Lucille for Miracle on King! The mocks mo!cked and the cocks cocked and we cannot wait to tell you all about it!
Traveling AF AF
I used to choose a (very expensive) hangover by the pool over culture. While I try not to live with very many regrets, I am sad I missed some of the most amazing places to see because I sat in a dark, dingy bar pounding beers and watching the World Cup. While it sounded fun at the time, I don’t even remember it and I missed exploring an entire city I’ll likely never return to.
Corporate Event: Mocktail Making
We loved every bit of explaining ingredients for each drink, detailing the creation of each beverage and watching all the surprised faces around the room as the taste testing occurred.
Octopi Brewing · Waunakee
If you haven’t check out @drinkoctopi in Waunakee, please do. We love us some @untitledartbev brews and they have ALL of them; easy since its brewed right there. Keep an eye out for our full review which is going to have all the 🐋 tails.
Weight Loss and Not Drinking
The truth is when I quit drinking I thought my extra weight would just “fall off”. I was drinking so many calories in wine, it would only make sense that in like, 6 weeks I would be back down to my high school weight.
Zero.Zero ABV vs Zero.Five ABV
If you’ve been searching the alcohol-free section of your favorite local liquor store (hopefully they have one) or been scrolling through the endless AF (alcohol-free) sites online, you’ve probably noticed that many non-alcoholic products contain a little alcohol - up to 0.5% ABV (alcohol by volume).
How can something be non-alcoholic and also contain a “little” alcohol?
Good question. We’re going to try to lay it out here so you can make your own educated decision on how you feel about it.

Mint Mark · Madison
We finally made it to Mint Mark! What. A. Gem. This place was adorable and had the sweetest staff! It was recommended to us that we show up around 5pm instead of our standard 6pm due to the speed at which this joint fills up and boy were they right. Which is an amazing problem to have!
Good Company · Middleton, WI
So nice, we had to go twice! We LOVED Good Co. at Pioneer Pointe. We didn’t even realize we were missing a place like this until it existed and now we don’t want to live without it.
Your Dry January (or any other time) Toolbox
In this article I am going to share a few of my sobriety tools with you. By “tools” I mean apps, books, podcasts, articles, meditations, journal prompts, etc. that helped me GET sober and stay that way for almost 500 days now.
Heritage Tavern · Madison
The drinks are why we come, the experience is why we stay. The drinks were tremendous and we’re both still dreaming of the London Fog. The execution of the mocktail menu was about as close to perfect as it gets, the only slight miss was the NA Old Fashioned, but who cares when you have every other drink sitting at the literal top of all mocktail dreams.

Amara · Madison
Tails Up Tuesday had us heading to the stunningly beautiful brand new Amara at Hilldale. This place was absolutely gorgeous, they left absolutely no detail to chance. The way the restaurant and bar flowed, the lighting, you name it, they did it well. If you’re looking for that place for a holiday dinner, this is it.
A Few of Our Favorite Non-Alcoholic Things
As we gear up for the Holidaze, we’re sharing some of our favorite non-alcoholic beverages, recipes and tools with you.
Buck & Honey’s · Waunakee
The staff was wonderful. We had the sweetest server and everyone around her, management, assistants, you name it, were all so kind, so welcoming and so attentive. They were so generous to start us off with their B&H Sampler and the Jones Dairy Farm Bacon & Korean Ribs, or, as Katy lovingly dubbed it, “hangin’ Bacon” – both stunning and delicious.
Café Hollander
This week we headed to Café Hollander at Hilldale in Madison, WI. This location is a blast, right in the middle of the action of a shopping and entertainment district. It’s a fairly large restaurant, two stories, with a huge bar area, and ample outdoor seating as well.
Muskellounge
As you walk into the Muskellounge on Monona Drive, arguably a busy bustling street, you feel immediately transported to a woodsy bar up north. An incredibly cozy, wood paneled bar popped up in a completely non-descript strip mall bordering Madison and Monona and we loved all of it. Like, genuinely can’t wait to return to enjoy the cozy atmosphere, because winters in Wisconsin are horrendous, kind of love. That really says something, a place that you are willing to leave your home for in the dead of winter because you know that it will be so lovely.
Meditation 101
Meditation 101.
The first step to meditating is to just try it. And by “it” I mean sit in a chair or lie on your back, inside or outside, or in any comfortable position; I’m not watching, and breathe.
